Gazipur Titas gas transmission and distribution officials have jailed a factory manager for 15 days for using illegal gas in a raid. In addition, 14 people, including two factories, have been fined Tk 5 lakh 31 thousand. In this operation, 1,600 illegal connections were cut in some areas.
The operation was carried out by a joint initiative of Titas agents and the police led by Gazipur Executive Magistrate Masudur Rahman from 11 am to 11:30 pm on Tuesday.
Mobile court judge Masudur Rahman said Messrs. Emma Dry Process, located in the Bordbazar area of Gazipur city, had been using gas illegally. Anisur Rahman, the factory manager, was sentenced to 15 days in prison and fined 1 lakh Tk. At the same time, the factory was sealed. Furthermore, the company was fined Taka 60,000 for using an unauthorized gas compressor or gas booster at the Gentlemen’s Perfect Wash Factory, located in the Shaheed Siddique Road area of Board Bazar.
