In this regard, the chief engineer of the Sylhet (Sales and Distribution) Energy Development Board Khandaker Mokammel Hossain said on Wednesday that some 400 workers have been working since last night. Some of the repaired pillars will be launched on an experimental basis before noon today. If all goes well, the power supply will be normal in some areas of the district.

It is unknown at this time what he will do after leaving office.

Following the fire, power was cut off in the Sylhet and Sunamganj districts of the Sylhet division.

Later, the power supply became normal in Sunamganj around 6pm.

According to the victims of the city of Sylhet, the city corporate authorities were unable to supply water to the city because the electricity supply was cut off due to the fire.
