The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) reported that 25-year-old Mohsin Talukder appeared on social media and threatened to kill star cricketer Shakib Al Hasan out of anger. A press conference was held at the RAB-9 office in Sylhet in the afternoon after Mohsin’s arrest on Tuesday morning.
At the press conference, RAB officials said that Mohsin Talukder is a blind devotee of Shakib. On social media, he was angry at the news of Shakib’s bid opening and behaved like this.

The RAB official further said: “It is not by persuasion, he has done such a thing out of his own anger. During preliminary questioning, no fuel was found behind the incident.
Early this morning, the RAB arrested Mohsin from Ranshi village in the East Pagla Union of Sunamganj’s South Sunamganj upazila. According to RAB, Mohsin hid in the home of his wife’s older sister-in-law. Later he was taken to Sylhet.
How to get arrested
Mohammad Abdullah Russell, RAB-9 deputy police superintendent, told the media that Mohsin was hiding in Sunamganj. The RAB raided the homes of several relatives and acquaintances in Sunamganj. His wife and the president of the Parishad Union (UP) of the area were brought to Sunamganj from Sylhet. The wife also helped catch Mohsin. Mohsin spoke to his wife on his mobile phone at one point Tuesday morning. RAB confirmed his location from the source of that phone call. He was later arrested at that house in Ransi village. After the arrest, Mohsin was taken to Sylhet RAB’s office.
Mohsin Talukder is a resident of the village of Talukdarpara in the Tukerbazar junction of Sylhet Sadar upazila. According to RAB, Mohsin took refuge in his brother-in-law’s home in Ransi village in South Sunamganj on Monday night.
Previously, the additional deputy commissioner (media) of the Sylhet metropolitan police, ABM Ashraf Ullah Taher, had said in this regard that the operation to arrest the threatening Mohsin has been carried out in several places since he learned of the threat to Shakib Al Hasan on Facebook Live. It was not possible to find him even after returning home. The police have filed a case in this regard.
