In Boalmari upazila of Faridpur, a couple died after jumping under a train. The accident took place on the railway line at Sotashi Hari Battala in Boalmari Sadar Union on Tuesday afternoon.
The deceased was identified as Farhana Akter Mukta, 19, daughter of Ali Akbar from Charnarandia village under the union of Pachuria of Alfadanga upazila from Faridpur and Fazlur Rahman, 20, son of Saiful Islam from Sattibari village under Aditmari upazila from Lalmonirhat district and a class XII student from the Aditmari School of Government.
According to local sources and the fire service, the local Bhatiapara Express train, which left Rajbari on the Rajbari-Bhatiapara train line, reached Sotashi Haribattala and the couple jumped under the train with the intention of committing suicide.
At that time, her lover Farhana Akhter Mukta died on the spot. A team from the Boalmari Fire Station recovered the mutilated body of her boyfriend Fazlur Rahman and took him to the Boalmari Upazila Health Complex, where he also died.
The idea is that a love story unfolds on your mobile phone or on Facebook social networks. Locals believe the couple committed suicide because the two families did not accept their love story.
Fazlur Rahman’s mother, Hasi Begum, said on her mobile phone that her son went for a walk last Sunday. But his son Fazlur Rahman used to talk to a girl on Facebook, he said.
Boalmari Fire Station Manager (Acting) Wahiduzzaman Khan Saiful said Fazlur Rahman’s body was recovered from the scene and taken to the Boalmari Health Complex emergency department, where the doctor on duty declared him dead. The bodies of Fazlur Rahman and Farhana were handed over to the Railroad Police.
