Mohammad Harun Aur Rashid, deputy commissioner of the Tejgaon division of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police, said that Mamun was arrested at his home in the Sher-e-Bangla Nagar government staff quarters on Tuesday morning.

On November 9, ASP Anisul was beaten to death while receiving treatment for mental illness at Mind Aid Hospital in Adabar, Dhaka. Hospital authorities claim Anisul was behaving rudely and staff were trying to calm her down.
However, after the incident, a video of Anisul being beaten was released in the ‘aggressive management room’ of the hospital. It shows that 6 to 7 people hold Anisul to the ground, two of them hit her with their elbows. Arif Mahmud, the hospital director, was also waiting.
Deputy Commissioner Harun told reporters the next day that between 8 and 9 people hit Anisul at random. They’re all hospital boys, cleaners.
After Anisul’s death, his father, Faizuddin Ahmed, filed a murder case against 15 people at the Adabar police station.
Police had previously arrested 12 defendants in the case. Dr. So far, a total of 13 people have been arrested, including Abdullah Al Mamun.
Deputy Commissioner Harun said Mamun, the registrar for the Hospital and Mental Health Institute, was not named in the case statement.
