A young man threatened to kill off-roader Shakib Al Hasan in a live video on social media Facebook.
Mohsin Talukder, son of Azad Box Talukder from Shahpur Talukdarpara in Sadar upazila of Sylhet, made a death threat in a Facebook video at 12:08 pm on Sunday.
He promoted this video live from his own “Mohsin Talukdar” Facebook account. Recently, after accepting an invitation to a Kali Puja program, the young man was upset that Shakib had gone to Kolkata and said that he would shoot him dead. At that point, he began abusing Shakib in vulgar language.
In the video, Mohsin revealed his identity and said that he would walk to Dhaka if necessary to kill Shakib.
He then appeared in a live video again at 6:04 am. However, he apologized for the evening’s provocative video and asked Shakib Al Hasan to apologize to the nation.
At the time, he said, he is not making this video now under any pressure but to give Shakib a chance and to give a message to all the other celebrities like Shakib to follow the right path again.
Two of his videos were not removed from Facebook until the report was written at 3pm on Monday (November 18).
When contacted, Shahid Ahmed, president of the Tukerbazar Union in Sylhet Sadar Upazila, told The Daily Star: ‘I didn’t know anything. Yet such a public threat to the world’s best SUV, Shakib Al Hasan, is certainly reprehensible.
BM Ashraf Ullah Taher, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Media) of the Sylhet Metropolitan Police, told The Daily Star: “We have just heard about the matter. The video link has been provided to Cyber Forensics. We started searching. Legal action will be taken soon.
On October 29, Shakib was released from a one-year ban. On November 8, the most successful star in Bangladeshi cricket history returned home from the United States.
Jamcon Khulna has brought Shakib to the team since the Bangabandhu T20 Cup players’ draft last Thursday. On the same day, the star SUV went to India after being invited to a public Shyamapujo event in Kolkata, India. He returned to the country on Friday.
Bangladesh’s many-hitting hero has started practicing his skills at the Sher-e-Bangla cricket stadium in Mirpur since Sunday.
