At the metropolitan and district headquarters, the deputy commissioner and at the upazila level, the upazila executive officer will represent the government to show respect to the heroic freedom fighter. If involved in state or public affairs, the Additional Deputy Commissioner on behalf of the Deputy Commissioner and the Assistant Commissioner (Land) on behalf of the Upazila Nirbahi Officer will represent the Government.
The state has been informed about the rules to show respect, the coffin of the heroic dead freedom fighter must be covered by the national flag. However, the national flag must be displayed prior to burial. The authorized representative of the government will place a wreath in the casket. Armed members of the authorized number of police forces will salute and sound the bugle.
The honor guard will be in charge of the officer in charge of the corresponding police station. If the officer in charge is unable to stay due to public or state work, the next senior police station officer will perform the duty. In the case of heroic freedom fighters retired from the military, the army has to follow its own customs. According to the last wish of the heroic freedom fighter and according to religious principles, the funeral or burial should take place. For destitute freedom fighters, arrangements should be made to provide grants from funds allocated by the Ministry of Liberation War.
