The new leadership was elected at a Hefazat conference held in Hathazari Madrasa on Sunday amid opposition from followers of the late Amir Shah Ahmad Shafi.
After that, Junaid Babungari approached reporters at the madrasa premises and said, “I told you not to make me Amir. Even then, these ুরু Murubbis have turned him into Amir. “
Hefazat activists present at the time began chanting slogans like ‘Babungari, go ahead, we are with you’.
“I pray that you can fulfill this important responsibility. Pray for me. I will pray for the ulama of my committee, ”Babungari said.
Custody is in the hands of Babungari
Ahmed Shafi, Managing Director of Al Jamiatul Ahlia Darul Uloom Moinul Islam Madrasa, also known as Hathazari Madrasa in Chittagong, was the Emir of Hifazat. He was also the general manager of that madrasa.
The teacher of that madrassa was the general secretary of Hefazat, an organization based in Babungari Qaumi Madrasa.
However, in the middle of this year, Babungari lost the Madrasa post in a conflict with Shafi’s son, Anas Madani, but remained in the post of Secretary General of Hifazat.
Ahmed Shafi resigned as director general of the madrassa amid protests from a group of madrassa students. His son Anas Madani was also fired. Then Babungari returned to the madrasa post.
When Ahmad Shafi died the day after losing control of the Hathazari Madrasa, the post of Amir de Hifazat was vacated.
In this situation, faced with opposition from Shafi’s followers, the Babungaris organized a conference on Sunday and formed a new committee. Shafi’s son, Anas Madani, was also not invited to the conference.
The tone of the breakdown around the Hefazat conference
Additional law enforcement personnel were deployed to Hathazari since Saturday on the occasion of the conference due to conflicting statements between the two sides of the custody.
The local leader of the Jatiya Party, Anisul Islam Mahmud, went to Hathazari Madrasa with local administration officials on Saturday afternoon.
The guests began to arrive from Saturday afternoon to participate in the council. However, no adverse incident occurred as Shafi’s followers were not present.
When announcing the names of the members of the new committee, it was reported that General Secretary Junaid Babungari had canceled the previous committee at the start of the conference.
Allama Mahibullah Babungari has been appointed Senior Advisor to the new committee. He is Junaid Babungari’s uncle. He chaired the conference on Sunday.
Mahibullah resigned from Hefazat-e-Islam in Babungari due to a dispute over the official recognition of the Qaumi Charter and receipt from the Prime Minister. However, his resignation was not accepted.
Amir Noor Hossain Kasemi has been appointed the new general secretary of the new committee. He is the general secretary of Ulamaye Islam Bangladesh, a partner in the 20-party alliance.
Five hundred delegates were invited to the conference. About four hundred people were present. Twelve of them appointed a 151-member committee in a closed-door meeting.
There are 24 members of the announced committee advisory council. The names of 32 Naib Amirs and seven Deputy General Secretaries have been announced.
Mamunul Haque, Acting Secretary General of the Majlis, is one of seven deputy general secretaries. The caliphate leader Majlis demanded the removal of the Bangabandhu sculpture at a function in Dhaka on Friday.
Meanwhile, Hefazat’s Shafi supporters have questioned the legitimacy of forming a new committee at the conference. They have been saying before that the leadership of the organization will be in the hands of ‘Jamaat-BNP’.
Meanwhile, Awami League deputy Najibul Bashar Maizbhandari in Fatikchhari, Chittagong, expressed his support for making Babungari Amir.

Ahmadis demand to be declared non-Muslim
Junaid Babungari and Nur Hossain Qasemi renewed their long-standing demand that Ahmadis be declared non-Muslim as soon as they take on new responsibilities in custody.
Junaid Babungari said: “Eradicate all evil forces against Islam, eradicate Qadiani, eradicate atheist Muratads and compose the graves of those who mocked the Prophet, the enemy of my Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).
“If you were called to donate blood to work for all of Islam, would you not come, God willing?”
Qasemi said: “The Qadiani community is not Muslim. It is illegal for them to use Muslim names. Our demand is that the Qadianis be officially declared non-Muslim immediately.
“Just as Hindu-Buddhist Christians live in this country as non-Muslim citizens, the Qadianis have the right to live in this country as non-Muslim citizens.”
He said: “If the Habib of Allah is not respected, the death penalty should be officially enacted.”
