It is worth mentioning that Soumitra Chatterjee, 8, immigrated to the country without returning on Sunday afternoon. The veteran superstar, actor-playwright-bachik-artist-poet and painter has been battling illness at Bellevue Hospital in Kolkata for a long time. The original home of the Soumitra Chattopadhyay family was in the village of Kaya near Shilaidaha in Kushtia, Bangladesh. From the time of his grandfather, the Chattopadhyay family started living in Krishnanagar, Nadia district.
