Five tents were destroyed in a fire in the BMA Gate area of ​​Bhatiari Union in Chittagong’s Sitakunda upazila. Scrap iron and cable were sold in stores. The fire broke out around 12:15 p.m. Sunday on the west side of the Dhaka-Chittagong highway in the area of ​​the C Gold gas station in Bhatiari.

According to police sources, firefighters connected the water line from the well on the east side of the road, as the water brought by the firefighters ran out. As a result, traffic on the road must be stopped. This caused a traffic jam of at least four kilometers on both sides of the road.
Sultan Mahmud, a senior officer at the Kumira Fire Service Station, told Prothom Alo that they had the fire under control in an hour and a half. However, no casualties were reported. He couldn’t tell the amount of damage.
Said the Deputy Inspector of the Bar Aulia Highway Police (SI). Ibrahim told Prothom Alo that the road had to be closed to facilitate the supply of water to the fire service. After being stopped for a while, the traffic normalized.
