The Ministry of Liberation War Affairs has issued an order to show respect for the death of the heroic freedom fighter, 2020. The 2005 order in this regard has been repealed by this order.

The new order, issued today (Sunday, November 15), states that to show respect in the state, the name must be on any of the evidence published on the website of the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs (www.molwa.gov .bd). The order stated that in the event of the death of a heroic freedom fighter, the deputy commissioner or the Upazila Nirbahi officer concerned should be informed. The Bangladesh Muktijoddha Welfare Fund will inform the Deputy Commissioner or Officer of Upazila Nirbahi in the event of the death of any heroic titled freedom fighter or wounded in Dhaka. The freedom fighter can inform the parliament, relatives or any citizen administration about the death of the heroic freedom fighter. Even if the news of the death is published through the media or social networks, the administration will be able to take action after verification.

At the metropolitan and district headquarters, the deputy commissioner and, at the upazila level, the Upazila Nirbahi officer will represent the government to show respect to the heroic freedom fighter. If involved in state or public affairs, the Additional Deputy Commissioner on behalf of the Deputy Commissioner and the Assistant Commissioner (Land) on behalf of the Upazila Nirbahi Officer will represent the Government.

Rules for showing respect in the state
The coffin of the heroic dead freedom fighter must be covered by the national flag. However, the national flag must be displayed prior to burial or burial. The government authorized representative will place a wreath in the casket. Armed salutes must be performed by armed members of the authorized number of police forces and a tragic melody must be played on the bugle.

The officer in charge of the corresponding police station will direct the honor guard. In the case of heroic freedom fighters retired from the armed forces, the force has to follow its own customs.

The order further stated that the heroic freedom fighter should be buried according to his last wishes and according to religious principles. For destitute freedom fighters, arrangements must be made to provide grants from funds allocated by the Ministry of Liberation War.
