The US Embassy in Dhaka will begin accepting applications from new applicants for category F, J and M visas starting next Sunday.

Those three categories are Student Visa, Student Exchange Visa, and Scholarship Visa.

However, due to the Covid-19 situation, the number of interviews on the embassy’s daily schedule will be limited and visa processing can take up to six weeks, the U.S. embassy said in a statement on Friday.

Additionally, the embassy authorities have requested applicants to plan their visa application and travel dates with the visa process in mind.

Applicants must log in to the www.ustraveldocs.com/bd website and update their profile online. An online interview must be conducted after paying the applicable visa fee.

The embassy said in a statement that the application fee (MRV) will remain valid until regular visa service activities at the U.S. Embassy in Dhaka resume and the application fee can be used to make an appointment until December 31, 2021.

For those who will be applying for a student visa renewal, students in the United States who wish to continue studying the same subject at their old / same educational institution are offered the opportunity to renew a student visa without an interview.

The U.S. embassy also said visa renewal applications are accepted for spouses and children under the age of 21 with F-2 visas.
