Six Indians killed in Pakistani bombing on Kashmir border

This is the largest bombing incident between the two countries on the Kashmir border in recent times, says AFP. The Indian army blames Pakistan for the incident. The Indian army said in a statement that Pakistan had violated the ceasefire for no reason. Pakistan used mortars and other weapons in the attack. The statement further said that the Indian army’s counterattack had caused extensive damage to infrastructure and casualties to the Pakistani army. Local villagers fled their homes due to clashes between the armies of the two countries.

Meanwhile, Pakistan has also admitted casualties to the Line of Control (LoC). However, they did not immediately mention the number of victims. Five days after three Indian soldiers and three militants were killed in a skirmish on the Line of Control (LoC), India and Pakistan, two of South Asia’s nuclear rivals, are embroiled in a fierce battle today.

At the birth of India and Pakistan in 1947, Kashmir was divided into two parts. But both countries have been claiming the whole of Kashmir as their own. The two sides have been involved in three wars so far.
