The Rajshahi district administration has taken over Dil Afroz Khuki on behalf of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. The girl chose a life of struggle distributing her wealth among the poor. He has been selling newspapers on the streets of the city for 30 years.

Rajshahi Deputy Commissioner Abdul Jalil said: “I have met with him and instructed the officials concerned to take the necessary steps.”

The deputy commissioner added: “Dil Afroz Khuki doesn’t need much help, he needs a little care, love from family members and respect from everyone.”

He said the administration had hired some day laborers to clean and paint the girl’s house.

Dil Afroz visited the girl’s house and saw that her house was being cleaned and work was being done on the water pipe.

“Initially, we thought that since no one in the girl’s family cares for her, Tania is the right person for her,” the deputy commissioner said.

Tania said she has no parents. Although he calls Khuki Apa, he sees her as his own mother.

Tania alleged that her family members harassed and threatened her in various ways to take care of her.

The Rajshahi deputy commissioner said they had asked locals to take care of the girl and to be vigilant for any attacks on her.

Although the crowd gathered at Khuki’s house with the gifts, Khuki was happy to receive them, but said that he would deliver them to those who needed them most.

Some agencies came to his aid and promised that he would never be a street vendor again. But the girl went out with the newspaper like other days.

“Why? What is the shame of being a street vendor? Why would they hate this job?” The girl raised the question.

‘What will happen to my property if I die? I want my property to be donated for the deserving students of two schools in Kushtia. They will be polite with my money. Then I will have peace. This is what I want so that no one disrespects another person, ”said Dil Afroz Khuki.
