Niaz, the director of Mind Aid, was not presented in court for being ‘ill’

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Abu Safian on Wednesday. Adabar Police Station Inspector Farooq Mollah, the investigating officer on the case, briefed the court on the matter.

This is Dr. Niaz requested the issuance of a court order to present Morshed in court.

According to the petition, Niaz Morshed has been in treatment at the Hospital of the National Institute of Neurosciences since October 4. He suffers from waist-to-toe obesity.

The judge ordered that an arrest warrant be issued for Niaz Morshed if he is turned over to the court subject to recovery after treatment.

Niaz was the managing director of Mind Aid Hospital, where Anisul Karim died of torture while undergoing treatment for mental illness.

Anisul’s father, Faizuddin Ahmed, filed a murder case against 15 people at the Adabar police station. Police have already arrested 11 people, including Niaz Morshed.

On Tuesday, the court sent 10 defendants, except Niaz, into police custody for seven days for questioning.

They are: Arif Mahmud Joy, Mind Aid Marketing Manager, Coordinator Redwan Sabbir, Chef Masud, Ward Boy Jobayer Hossain, Tanif Mollah, Sajeeb Chowdhury, Asim Chandra Pal, Liton Ahmed, Saiful Islam Palash, and Pharmacist Tanvir Hasan.

Among the defendants in the case, Abdullah Al Mamun, Sakhawat Hossain, Sajjad Amin and Fatema Khatun Moyna remain at large.

Anisul, a group 33 student from the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Sciences at Jahangirnagar University, lives in Gazipur; He was Deputy Commissioner of the Traffic Department of the Metropolitan Police of Barisal.

Anisul, the father of one, went to Adabar Hospital in Dhaka for treatment as he suffered from mental problems due to family problems, relatives said.
