Winter has begun to fall in the northern border district of Panchagarh, known as the Himalayas. The minimum temperature has been 12 to 14 degrees Celsius for four days. The intensity of winter begins before dark even though there is a trace of sun and heat during the day.

Meanwhile, there is panic among the extremely poor and low-income people of the district over winter. They showed no willingness to survive the start of the severe winter.
On the other hand, it is hot during the day and cold at night for a few days. In such a hostile climate, various cold-related illnesses such as colds and coughs have appeared among the elderly and children. Motorcyclists have been wearing warm clothes since the afternoon to escape the cold.
Abdullah Al Mamun from the Rajnagar area of the district city said: “My nephew has started catching a cold for a few days. The doctor said the condition was mainly due to the night cold. They are currently giving him a nebulizer (gas) on the advice of doctors.
Azizul Islam, a rickshaw puller from Masjidpara mahalla, said: “I go out regularly in the morning with a rickshaw. It has been quite cold for a few days. That is why our income decreases during the winter. You cannot earn money for two meals a day. People don’t want to ride rickshaws because of the winter. This time it seems that winter will be longer than before. I am terrified of this. Today, income is lower than before.
Pediatrician Dr. Monowar Hossain said that children face many problems, especially when the weather changes. It currently feels hot during the day and cold at night. That is why children can get colds, coughs, and shortness of breath. They are advised to be careful in the cold.
Jahangir Hossain, official in charge of the Tentulia Meteorological Office, said the lowest temperature recorded in the country on Tuesday morning was 13.6 degrees Celsius. The low temperature on Monday was 12.8 degrees Celsius. This is the lowest in the country. Tentulia has been recording the lowest temperature in the country for four days.
