Dhaka: At the Adabar Mind Aid Hospital in the capital, patients were treated without a doctor. The hospital has been run for a long time by the hospital staff and the guys on the ward.
Patients were subjected to inhumane treatment in the name of medical treatment at this illegally constructed hospital without permission or license from the Department of Health.
Patients who came for medical treatment were first forcibly taken to the hospital’s observation room. If a patient did not want to enter, the fray would begin. The patient received blows to the back, waist, punches, elbows. The hospital staff and the boys in the ward used to beat him hands and feet. They beat in such a way that the patient feels pain but does not bleed. At Mind Aid Hospital, patients were first treated with physical and mental abuse.
On Monday (November 9), Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Anisul Karim, who had come to Mind Aid Hospital in the capital for mental treatment, was taken to the second floor observation room by hospital staff. and the guys in the room. Anisul Karim passed out after a while due to the beating. He was then taken to the National Heart Institute, where the doctor on duty declared him dead at 12:58 pm After this shocking incident, a torture image of patients admitted to the groundbreaking Mind Aid Hospital was released.

No psychiatric hospital or drug rehab center has rules to torture patients physically or mentally. It is a completely illegal act. Mental patients and drug addicts must be guided with words and good behavior. For this, from the hospital director to the nurses, the age of the ward, everyone needs training. Torture cannot be done in any way.

No action was taken by the Department of Health:
Mind Aid Hospital was established in 2019 as a drug rehab center. For this, the owners and managers took a permit / license from the Department of Narcotics Control. But the hospital authorities at the same time introduced medical services for the mentally ill. However, the hospital authorities do not have any permission or license from the Department of Health. Meanwhile, in February 2020, Mind Aid Hospital authorities requested permission. The hospital did not have logistical facilities or adequate staff during the visit. Furthermore, the hospital did not fall into any category of ideal hospital. Due to this, the request for permission from this hospital was suspended by the department. However, to run a drug rehabilitation center, a clinical facility and a hospital must have emergency arrangements.
The health department took no action after a patient was killed in a fight and beatings against hospital staff and children in the ward. The next day, a team from the department visited the hospital and left.

For this reason, he was transferred to the Mind Aid Hospital in Adabar in the capital at around 11:30 a.m. on November 9. Anisul behaved normally with everyone during the admission process.
Arif Mahmud Joy, 35, a marketing manager for the hospital, and Redwan Sabbir, 23, a coordinator, were among the 10 people arrested in connection with the killings.
