Many survivors of Covid-19 infection are at serious risk of developing mental health problems. Psychiatrists released this information on Monday. A large-scale study found that 20 percent of people infected with coronavirus develop mental health problems within 90 days. A report by the Reuters news agency has provided this information.

The research article was published in The Lancet Psychiatry. Researchers have analyzed electronic health data for 69 million people in the United States. There is also information on 72 thousand patients with Kovid-19.

The study found that people who recovered from Covid-19 and were diagnosed with mental health problems had more common problems like anxiety, depression and insomnia. Researchers say they are at increased risk for brain diseases such as dementia or amnesia.

Paul Harrison, a professor of psychology at the University of Oxford, said physicians and researchers around the world urgently needed to investigate the matter and find ways to treat postcovidal mental illness.
