Dhaka: The death of Anisul Karim, officer of the 31st BCS, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), is an obvious murder. Meanwhile, 10 people directly involved in the incident have been arrested.
The Deputy Commissioner of the Tejgaon Division (DC) of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), Harun Aur Rashid, said this at a press conference held in his office on Tuesday (November 10).
DC said that after analyzing CCTV footage of the incident, between 8 and 9 people were seen hitting the police officer at random. Some hit themselves on the head, others on the chest. Someone was seen tying ASP Anisul Karim’s hand again. They were all hospital guards, cleaners, there were no doctors here. So we thought it was a clear murder.
A murder case has been brought up in the incident and all 10 people present in the CCTV footage have been arrested. He also said that each of them would be sent to court with a request for a 10-day pretrial detention.

Those arrested are Mind Aid Marketing Manager Arif Mahmud Joy, Coordinator Redwan Sabbir, Kitchen Safe Masud, Ward Boy Jobayer Hossain, Tanif Mollah, Sajeeb Chowdhury, Asim Chandra Pal, Liton Ahmed, Saiful Islam Palash and Pharmacist Tanvir Hasan. .
DC said, I won’t be able to bring back ASP Anisul. However, everyone involved in this incident will be subject to the law.
He added that ASP Anisul was working in Barisal. But his relatives took him to the National Institute of Mental Health in Shyamoli, noting that he had been silent for several days. But did it happen that they had to take him to Adabar Mind Aid hospital in a few hours?
We are collecting information on those who participated in his transfer to Bhuiphond Hospital. If someone from a government hospital is involved, action will be taken against them.
When asked about the motive for the murder, he said: “We are investigating the matter.” If the detainees are sent to pretrial detention and interrogated, more detailed information will emerge.
Although they offered to provide psychiatric treatment at Mind Aid Hospital, they were unable to show any valid documents from the Health Department. They don’t have a permit from the Department of Narcotics Control. The hospital operated in Bhuifond without any doctor. None of the members of the hospital’s board of directors is a doctor.
He said action will be taken against everyone involved in the incident, including the hospital’s board of directors, and the hospital will be closed.
