Democrat Joe Biden has been elected the 46th president of the United States. He lost the election by a large margin to Donald Trump. He will take office as president next January.

According to various media reports, he plans to change some of the policies followed by the Donald Trump administration after taking office. Joe Biden will officially take office on January 20, 2021. He will then issue an executive order repealing several policies of the Trump administration.

The Washington Post reports that Donald Trump will soon lift the immigration ban imposed on Muslim-majority countries. The sanctions list included Iran, Syria, Libya, Somalia, Yemen, Venezuela, North Korea, Nigeria and Myanmar.

The African country Sudan was also on the list. However, the Trump administration later removed Sudan from the terrorist list for joining the Saudi-led Arab League and participating in the war against Yemen.

Additionally, Biden said it would allow teens who entered the United States illegally to pursue their dreams of staying in the country. He wants to restore the law in this regard.

President Trump withdrew from the Paris Climate Agreement. Joe Biden also wants to renew the agreement. Even if the Trump administration leaves the World Health Organization, Biden has said he will return.

Meanwhile, rival Republican candidate Donald Trump is reluctant to concede defeat to Biden. He has announced that he will question the election results legally. However, the newly elected president of the United States does not care at all about this. Biden said he wanted to be united to everyone, regardless of party affiliation.

In his first address to the nation since winning the election, Joe Biden said that the people of this country have opened their mouths. They gave us a clear victory, a credible victory.

“I swear to be a president who will unite, not divide,” he said, standing before countless supporters in Wilmington, Delaware.
