In some parts of the country, seven Indian Star Group television channels have been closed for four days. Many subscribers are unable to watch the channels as some of the cable operators have boycotted Star Group’s distributor in Bangladesh, Jadu Vision Limited.

Star Group of India is owned by Star Jalsa, Star Plus, Jalsa Movies, Star Gold, National Geographic, Geo Wild and Star India. An organization called Koab Oikya Paris had stopped broadcasting the channels in Bangladesh since the night of November 4. They claim that the local Star Channel distributor does not provide the invoice receipt. Let’s disconnect illegally. They have a few more complaints.

Meanwhile, two press conferences were held in the capital this Sunday to stop the broadcast of the Star channel. At a press conference held at a hotel in Banani, the Coab Unity Council said it was adamant in its decision to close the Star channel. On the other hand, the Coab Coordination Committee and the Muktadhara Foundation (Coab), two organizations, said in a joint press conference at the National Press Club that the Unity Council has no authority to boycott Star’s channel.
