Biden’s victory, many world leaders remain silent

Joe Biden won the United States presidential election by defeating Donald Trump. Many heads of state around the world have already started to congratulate Biden. But several leaders weren’t happy with Biden’s victory.

Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador has said he will not welcome Biden to his victory until all legitimate electoral challenges are resolved.

López Obrador said at a press conference that his country has good relations with both Joe Biden and President Trump. This is why you want to wait until the legitimate challenges are over. “We don’t want to be reckless at this time,” he said.

Many leaders who have a warm relationship with the Trump administration have been silent about welcoming Biden. Among them are Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. Russian President Vladimir Putin, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Chinese President Xi Jinping also did not address Biden.

There is a good relationship between Donald Trump and Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro. But since then, Bolsonaro’s relationship with Biden has been less than good. This issue has become clear in the electoral race.

When Biden said in his first debate with Trump that Brazil should use its pressure to protect the Amazon rainforest, Bolsonaro called his comments a “disaster.” Bolsonaro also misspelled Joe Biden’s name in a tweet at the time. He wrote John Biden instead of Joe Biden.

Trump has a very friendly relationship with Vladimir Putin. Nor did he congratulate Joe Biden. However, some of Trump’s allies have been seen as playing an exceptional role. For example, Israeli President Benjamin Netanyahu, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte welcomed Biden.

Biden has started receiving warm receptions from around the world. German Chancellor Angela Merkel said she was looking forward to working with Joe Biden on a future partnership. “The United States and Europe will continue to work together to address the enormous challenges of our time,” he said.

In a tweet, French President Emmanuel Macron congratulated Biden, saying that “we have a lot of work to do to meet current challenges.” Let’s work together.

Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez said he was interested in working with Biden and Orange Harris and wished them luck.

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has issued a lengthy statement congratulating Biden and Orange Harris. In it, he said, the relationship between Canada and the United States is different, which is exceptional in the world. The governments of the two countries will work together to establish peace and unity, achieve economic prosperity and address the world’s climate problems.
