Dhaka: The Ministry of Religious Affairs has imposed restrictions on the wearing of masks in all religious institutions, including mosques, temples, churches and pagodas. The ministry issued a notice on Sunday (November 8) with instructions in this regard.
The ministry has been said to have issued notices on several occasions imposing the obligation to wear masks in religious places of worship along with other measures to prevent the transmission of Kovid-19.
Lately it is observed with deep concern that the wearing of masks is being relaxed throughout the country, especially in mosques, temples, churches and other religious institutions. The government has given instructions to ensure that masks are worn in all cases, including religious institutions, in the event of a possible second wave of Kovid-19 infection.
Instructions for religious institutions, including mosques and temples:
Make sure that all the faithful in the mosque wear masks. The mosque committee should ensure that the mosque microphone is campaigned before prayers every time after the mask is entered, as well as displaying banners at the entrance of the mosque.
Followers of other religions, including Hindus, Buddhists, and Christians, must enter the shrine wearing masks. The concerned worship committee should ensure that signs are posted at the main entrance to enter the shrine after the mask.
There should be a massive campaign to make the public particularly aware of ‘No mask, no service’. The slogan must be displayed in all open spaces and posters or digital exhibits in governmental and non-governmental organizations. ‘
It is necessary to follow the hygiene rules issued by the health care department, including washing hands with soapy water and following social distance.
The Ministry of Religion has requested the officials and employees of the local administration, the Islamic Foundation, the Hindu Welfare Foundation, the Buddhist Religious Foundation and the Christian Religious Welfare Foundation and the management committee of the respective mosques and places of worship that they continue to publish the aforementioned statement regularly through microphones in all mosques and other places of worship in the country. .
