Awami League Deputy General Secretary AFM Bahauddin Nasim has said that only honest, worthy and dedicated candidates will win the nomination in all upcoming elections under local government, including municipality. If there is more than one candidate in the election, they will be persuaded to work for the ship. In this case, if someone opposes the boat, they will be permanently expelled from the team.
He said this while exchanging views with journalists working in the district at his Kukrailast residence in Madaripur at 11am on Saturday.
In addition, he said that honest, selfless, dedicated, courageous and difficult leaders who can work with the people will be nominated for the boat in this year’s municipal elections.
Nasim said that the Awami League is an old party and as it is a large party, the number of leaders and workers is also high. Leaders and workers have to work together for whoever the party appoints in all local government elections. It is guided by the party constitution.
Bahauddin Nasim said that at that time a medical school and a public university would be built in Madaripur.
He said that the current government is working to build a public university in Madaripur. We are hopeful that the honorable Prime Minister will build a public university for the people of Madaripur. Also, if someone wants to establish a private university, we will cooperate there too.
Bahauddin Nasim asked journalists not to give in to any muscular power in the next municipal elections and said: “My request in the next municipal elections is that you defend the image of the government by providing accurate and objective news.” If there is any irregularity in the election, you will highlight it. But you will not be afraid of any muscular force.
Praising journalists working in the Madaripur district, the former MP said that Madaripur district journalists serve up hard and objective news. You will not walk away from him. He urged journalists to cover the upcoming municipal elections impartially.
