One and a half million people will receive this vaccine at a cost of Rs 425 per dose.

Bangladesh will buy 30 million doses of the corona virus vaccine made by the University of Oxford in the UK. Each person should be vaccinated in two doses. In other words, this 3 crore dose of vaccine can be given to one crore of people in Bangladesh.

A tripartite memorandum of understanding was signed on Thursday with the Ministry of Health, the Serum Institute of India and Beximco Pharma of Bangladesh. If the World Health Organization approves the Oxford vaccine, this vaccine will reach Bangladesh.

In Bangladesh, the price of each dose of vaccine will be ৫ 5 (Rs. 425). Health Minister Jahed Malek said the vaccine would be purchased from the Bangladeshi government. The vaccine will be distributed in accordance with the World Health Organization guidelines. Priority will be given to those at the forefront of the fight against the corona virus, including doctors and healthcare workers. The Health Minister also told reporters that arrangements will be made for everyone in the country to get vaccinated in phases.

This coronavirus vaccine from Oxford University and AstraZeneca is now in the final stages of experimental application. The final results are expected to be known this year. The best institute in India has participated in the testing and production of this vaccine. Under the agreement, Beximco Pharmaceuticals is the “exclusive distributor” of the vaccines produced at the Serum Institute in Bangladesh.

Now the Bangladeshi government has reached an agreement to buy the vaccine from India through Beximco. However, the memorandum of understanding states that the vaccine must be approved by the World Health Organization before it can be introduced.

A memorandum of understanding was signed on Thursday at the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. Mostafa Kamal, Additional Secretary, Department of Health Services, Sandwip Malay, Additional Director, Seram Institute, and Rabbur Reza, Beximco Director of Operations, signed the agreement on his behalf.

In addition to the Minister of Health, Jahed Malek, the Indian High Commissioner in Bangladesh, Vikram Kumar Doraiswamy and the Managing Director of Beximco Pharmaceuticals Limited, Nazmul Hasan, were also present on the occasion.
