RAB sources also said that Kala Monir is also involved in the yaba business. At one time, SI Atiq Monir, who worked at the Mohammadpur Police Station, used to carry consignments of yaba from Cox’s Bazar to Dhaka. Atiq was arrested a couple of months ago with a shipment and is currently in jail. According to information received from Atiq, another member, Monir’s close aide Humayun, was arrested by the police, but so far the police have not arrested godfather Monir for mysterious reasons. It is known that Kala Monir was a real terror for the people of the Dhaka Udyan area in Mohammadpur. Most of the businessmen and residents here are hostages to their terrorist activities. After failing to pay the fees, Monir and his cadres looted Nazim’s land and looted building materials on the night of August 20. He filed a written complaint with the Home Office, the IGP and the Dhaka-13 parliament office on 14 October seeking redress. Additionally, Mostafa Nazim filed a GD at the Mohammadpur Police Station.

On October 5, the owner of Azhar Enterprise on Bochila Road in Mohammadpur filed a written complaint against Kala Monir at the IGP office. Barkat Ullah. He mentioned in the complaint that Kala Monir was involved in various terrorist activities, including land grabbing and extortion in the Dhaka Udyan area. In addition to Barkat Ullah, Monir demanded monthly fees from local brick, sand and stone merchants. Barkat Ullah received death threats if he did not pay the fees.

Kala Monir is known to have occupied the land of the Turag River and sold at least 20 to 30 parcels to different people. He is also accused of occupying several parcels of 10 housing companies, including Dhaka Udyan, Chandrima Housing, Turag Housing, Chand Udyan, Ekta Housing, Rajdhani Housing, Nabinagar Housing and Green City. If someone wants to build a new house in these areas, Kala Monir has to pay Rs 10 lakh. Monir’s cadres looted building materials if they didn’t want to pay.
