Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has asked the Navy to be ready at all times to protect the independence and sovereignty of the country and maritime resources. He said: “We have to work not only for the acquisition of maritime borders, but also for the development of the country.” To this end, we have taken the initiative to implement the steps of the Sunil economy.

The Prime Minister said this while addressing a function for the commissioning of five new modern naval warships for the Navy. He commissioned the ships to the Navy via videoconference from Ganobhaban at noon.

The Prime Minister said: “Our goal is to extract and use the resources of this vast ocean and the government is working towards that goal. And to make the dream of the father of the nation come true, we are building the navy to protect our maritime borders.

Sheikh Hasina further said that the Bangladesh Navy has taken another step in its continued progress. The day is very glorious not only for the Bangladesh Navy but for the entire country and nation.

As a result of this commissioning, visitors and seekers launched two new modern frigates Banauza Omar Farooq, Abu Ubaidah and a Corvette Pratasha warship and two Banauja reconnaissance ships.
