Deputy State Attorney (APP) Ranjit Kumar Mandal said investigating officer SI Syed filed an indictment against Madrasa Super Elias on November 13. The court judge then took notice of the case and filed charges on March 9, 2020. When the coronavirus outbreaks swept across the country in March, court proceedings were limited. Subsequently, as the process was normal, the court judge took the testimony of a total of 18 witnesses among doctors, policemen, plaintiffs, and defendants between September 27 and October 29. The arguments of the plaintiffs and defendants in this case ended on November 1.
In this case too, the court delivered its verdict after witnesses and arguments within 7 working days, APP Ranjit said, adding that the court had handed down the maximum sentence of life imprisonment under this law. The father of the plaintiff girl expressed his satisfaction with the trial and said that such incidents should not happen to any other child in the country.
Ali Akbar handled the case on behalf of the defendants. In arguing in the case, the defendant claimed that his client had been indicted for conspiring to remove him from the position of Madrasa Super.
