Biden’s call for unity

He did not claim to have been elected president, but said he was optimistic that he would get the electoral votes necessary to win. He also called the unit. Biden made the call in a speech in Delaware after the Nov.3 vote.
With this statement, Joe Biden’s goal was to make his presence known in the post-election controversy.

He did not declare victory, but said he was confident that when all the votes were counted, he would be president. And after Michigan was declared in his favor, it looks like he will get the 260 electoral votes needed to win.

Biden acknowledged the countermeasures or challenges that Trump has spoken about, although he did not name the president. “People cannot be silenced by silence or threats,” he said, referring to attempts to seize power.

However, he spent more time calling the unit. He added that he wanted to forget partisan divisions and unite the nation, which was his motto during the election campaign. He knows it will be extremely difficult, even if he is elected president.

Democrats hoped for a landslide victory so Biden could claim a broader term. But the results show how deep the roots of this division run.

Meanwhile, the BBC’s North America correspondent Anthony Zurker says the nightmare many feared is now coming true, sparking outrage among opponents and leading the country into a long and bitter legal battle.

During the campaign, Donald Trump has been warning for the last few weeks that if the electoral margin is too small, he will accuse the Democrats of manipulating the elections to snatch victory from him.

On Wednesday morning, he proved that his warning wasn’t just word of mouth, he wanted to turn it into action. With hundreds of thousands of valid ballots yet to be counted, he was declared the winner.

“We were ready to win this election. And to be honest, we really did win,” Trump said.

Without presenting information, he said the vote was “fraudulent.”

“It is a huge fraud for our nation. We want to use the law correctly now. So we want to take the matter to the Supreme Court and we want to stop counting all the ballots.”

What if Trump-Biden got the same votes?
In the United States, there are a certain number of voters in each state based on population, with a total of 537 votes in polling stations. At least 260 electoral votes are needed to win.

In other words, if there is a tie or tie, each party must get 269 votes. Now the question is what will happen if both Donald Trump and Joe Biden get 269 votes in this year’s presidential election? Will there be reelection? No.

In such event, the winner of the election will be determined by decision of the United States Congress.

The president will then be determined by a vote in the lower house of Congress, or the “House of Representatives.” Representatives from each state may cast one vote and a candidate will need at least 26 votes to become president.

The vice president will be elected by vote of the Senate, where each of the 100 senators will cast a vote.
