In Alampur, Sylhet, a young man named Alhaj Uddin (20) committed suicide by hanging himself after arriving on Facebook Live with his girlfriend. The incident took place around 9pm on Wednesday (November 4) at a house in the Alampur Muktijoddha Gate area.
Alhaj Uddin is the son of Liaquat Ali from Dargabaharpur village in Manikpur Junction No. 9 of Sylhet Zakiganj upazila border. It passed the SSC of the Sylhet Government Technical Institute last year.
Before committing suicide, Alhaj Uddin gave a status on Facebook with his photo with his girlfriend. In it he writes: “Some people love selflessly. They are very selfish with the loved one. He wants to catch it with everything. And I didn’t get it anyway. I’m not going back to the country. Don’t be fooled by love!
Shortly after writing these words on Facebook, he came to live and committed suicide by hanging himself. His Facebook friends have been seen making candid comments so as not to commit suicide after seeing such a tragic scene live. The incident has caused a stir on social media.
Alhaj Uddin got to the Facebook ID and committed suicide live, after a while Facebook authorities blocked the ID, many said.
Alhaj Uddin’s uncle Afzal Hossain said that Alhaj’s mother and sister were home at night. He tells his mother to make tea and goes to the bedroom. No one understood why he committed suicide by playing music with a sound box inside the room.
He said the boy was very nice. I’ve never seen anyone fight. While studying at Sylhet, he had an affair with a girl. He committed suicide being arrogant with that girl.
The Officer-in-Charge (CO) of the Sylhet Metropolitan Police Moglabazar Police Station, Sahabul Islam, confirmed the incident and said that a young man named Alhaj Uddin committed suicide due to an affair. Upon receiving the news, the police came to the scene at night and recovered the body and sent it to the Osmani Medical College morgue.
