Abul Kalam Chowdhury said: ‘Nurul Haque did not pay rent for a long time and an arbitration meeting was held in 2002. The arbitrator decided to pay the arrears. Even then Nurul Haque did not pay the rent. On the contrary, he has been occupying my house worth millions of rupees for almost 20 years with various excuses. Despite repeated requests to leave the house, I am threatened with the influence of personal forces and groups. I currently suffer from insecurity with my family.
Abul Kalam further said at the press conference: ‘I am an old man. I have five children. Of these, two sons and one daughter have physical disabilities. A disabled child died without treatment due to lack of money. Currently, due to lack of money, I cannot cover the medical expenses of my two disabled children. He sought the goodwill of the administration, including Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the local MP and Justice Minister Anisul Haque, to rescue the house.
