Bangladesh’s Shakib Al Hasan has been named the best off-roader in the International Cricket Council’s ODI ranking.
Shakib Al Hasan was banned for two years on October 29 last year, including a one-year moratorium.
Shakib lifted the ban last week.
And after the ICC updated its ranking, Shakib is back at number one.
In the absence of Shakib Al Hasan, Afghan cricketer Mohammad Nabi has been at number one for so long.
When Shakib Al Hasan was banned from playing cricket, he did not do so due to the coronavirus.
Afghanistan also did not play a significant number of games. As a result, Nabi did not have a chance to increase her qualification points.
But due to last year’s great performance, Shakib Al Hasan was already well ahead in rating points.
Now Shakib’s score is 363. And 301 for Prophet Muhammad.
Chris Oakes and Ben Stokes from England are at number three and four respectively.
This month there will be a national T20 event in Bangladesh under the auspices of the Bangladesh Cricket Board. This is where Shakib Al Hasan talks about returning to field cricket.
The former Bangladesh captain also completed high-level training at the Bangladesh Institute of Sports Education (BKSP) in September.
Previously, Shakib Al Hasan participated in such training prior to the 2019 World Cup. At the time he was playing for the Indian Premier League team Sunrisers Hyderabad.
