Experts have said that it would not be correct to take the admission test in public universities through the software “Proctured Remote Examination System”.

Emphasis is being placed on conducting physical examinations in group methods based on your opinions. Five major universities, including the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), have opposed taking the exams in this way.

In a review meeting held at the University Grants Commission (UGC) on Tuesday, experts said the country has yet to develop the capacity to take admissions tests with software. Taking the admissions test with this software can create confusion in people’s minds. Most student assessments may not be accurate due to network and technical issues.

According to them, no country in the world conducts large-scale testing with just one piece of software. The committee recommends that UGC formulate a policy in case of taking the admissions test with software.

If you want to meet the UGC member, Prof. Mohammad Alamgir told Jago News that there is no other way than to do a physical exam. Today, we have to move forward with importance. If you are in the group method, it is to everyone’s advantage. This will also reduce the suffering of the students.

He said that although BUET, Dhaka University, Jahangirnagar University, Rajshahi University and Chittagong University had agreed to reach 32 universities in a cluster system. They have already issued a notification to take the physical admission test. On Monday (November 2), the Minister of Education held a meeting with the rectors of the four universities and called for a new approach. In fact, they will be able to be admitted to the university through a centralized examination in accordance with hygiene regulations.

Meanwhile, at Monday’s meeting, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Digital University Vice Chancellor Prof. Munaj Ahmed Noor highlights various aspects of his invented software ‘Procto Remote Examination System’.

He said the software was originally designed to assess internal university exams. It is currently not suitable for taking the online college admissions test.

If you want to meet the Vice Chancellor of Jagannath University, Prof. Mizanur Rahman told Jago News that since it is not possible online, the admission test must be organized in a group system in the presence of students. All universities will be able to do it in a more beautiful way.

He said that a test of one and a half to two hours could be carried out centrally in the group system. In case of admission, universities can maintain their autonomy and apply to top-tier universities on the condition that they can apply if they obtain 80 percent of grades. Specialists can combine different study plans with prescribed admission test numbers. Thus, it is possible to complete the university admission process through a test in a short time, he said.
