Md. Imam Uddin Sumon, Noakhali correspondent: Apan Mami has given birth to a daughter by raping the son of a nun in Begumganj of Noakhali. Police arrested the defendant Nazmul Alam Sohan on Tuesday (November 3) in connection with the case. He was later arrested in the case and sent to jail.

The victim said that on December 4, 2019, she went to visit the nuns’ house in Chaumuhani Township. That day, Sohan, the son of a nun, found her alone at home and raped her. She got pregnant. She gave birth to a daughter in October this year. He then went to Sohan’s house claiming to be the boy’s father. But Sohan denies his claim. The woman appeared at the police station Tuesday morning with her baby in her arms.
Begumganj Police Station Inspector (Investigation) Ruhul Amin said that the accused Nazmul Alam Sohan was the nun’s son. He was arrested at his home in Chaumuhani Township Tuesday afternoon following a verbal accusation. The female victim then filed a case against her. When Sohan was presented in court showing his arrest in that case, the judge ordered that he be sent to jail.
