Journalist Golam Sarwar has been rescued naked from a canal on the Dhaka-Chittagong road at Kumira Union in Sitakunda, Chittagong. A reporter from today’s Suryodaya newspaper and a member of the Chittagong Union of Journalists (CUJ) disappeared from Chittagong last Thursday.

A local man saw Golam Sarwar around 6:30 pm on Sunday. When asked about his identity, Golam Sarwar introduced himself as a journalist. Later, the man reported the incident to local President Morshed Chowdhury. Morshed immediately informed the Sitakunda Model Police Station and the Sitakunda Press Club.

President Morshed Chowdhury said who or what left Golam Sarwar in the canal water. He was not wearing anything at the time of the rescue. She is fine.

Sitakunda OC Police Station (investigation) Sumon Banik confirmed the incident. He said police and journalists had rushed to the scene.
