On September 29, 2019, Haji Selim, Managing Director of Medina Group, received a notice from the Narayanganj Deputy Commissioner and Sonargaon Upazila (Lands) Deputy Commissioner’s Office to renounce illegal possession of government property.
Haji Selim went into hiding after Irfan Selim, the son of Dhaka-6 MP Haji Selim, was recently arrested for beating a naval officer. Later, one-on-one possession charges began to surface against him. Since then, efforts have intensified to reclaim various government and private properties in their possession.
