The BNP has described the publication of a cartoon of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) in France as a heinous crime. Condemning this, the party sympathized with the angry reaction of the Muslims.
BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said at a press conference at the BNP president’s office in Gulshan, the capital, on Sunday afternoon.
Mirza Fakhrul said the decision was made at a virtual meeting of the standing committee chaired by BNP Acting President Tarique Rahman on Saturday.
BNP general secretary said: “The publication of cartoons of the holy religion of Islam and Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and the position of the French president on his behalf focused on the billions of rational people of all religions and castes, including more than 200 million Muslims worldwide. ” The BNP is in solidarity with him.
The BNP has said that insulting any religious leader in the name of freedom of expression cannot be justified in any way. Therefore, the BNP has considered the publication of cartoons of the Prophet (PBUH) as a heinous crime and has condemned it.
