It has been reported that a woman resident of Rajshahi city was deceived and raped in Godagari district. The incident took place in Munti’s garden at the Deopara union’s Dhamila Laddu junction in Godagari upazila on Saturday night. Later that night, the woman went to the Kashiadanga Police Station in Rajshahi and filed a complaint. After receiving the complaint, the police arrested one person. After that, the Godagari police conducted separate raids and arrested two more. The victim filed a case at the Godagari Police Station on Sunday.
Those arrested are- Rajshahi Metropolitan Damkura Police Station Bindarampur village Moksed son. Shukur, 40, Rony, 30, son of Saiful Islam from Dhamila village in Godagari upazila, and Babu, 45, son of the late Abu Zakir. They have been sent to jail.
The Rajshahi Kashiadanga Metropolitan Police Station OC Muhammad Mansur Ali Arif said the victim was a resident of Tanore Upazila. He lives in the Shah Makhdum area of the Rajshahi metropolis. After the rape incident, she first went to the Kashiadanga Police Station and filed a complaint. Later, a man was arrested after speaking with senior officials. Subsequently, the victim together with the accused was sent to the Damkura City Police Station.
Godagari OC Khairul Islam Model Police Station said the gang rape took place in the Godagari Police Station area and that two more people involved in the incident were arrested in a night raid. The three were then sent to jail through court on Sunday morning. The victim has filed a case accusing three people. He was sent to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital for examination.
