Husband Zahid Hasan, addicted to foreigners, kept his girlfriend’s photo in his wallet. His wife Oishee Khatun (20) protested against this. Her husband Zahid beat her to death in a fight over the incident. Later, Zahid and his family also tried to promote suicide.
The incident took place at Zahid’s home in Aotapara village of Sahapur Union in Pabna’s Ishwardi upazila on Saturday night (October 31).
Aishwarya’s mother filed a lawsuit against her son-in-law Zahid and some members of his family on Saturday night.
The deceased was identified as Oishee, daughter of Mahabul Alam from Char-Aotapara village under the Sahapur union of Ishwardi upazila. Aishwarya has a 6 month old son.
Oishee’s mother, Sahanara Begum, said that Oishee married Zahid on January 25, 2019. Zahid Pabna Ishwardi Upazila Chhalimpur Union Maniknagar village Gharami said. Son of Aaron.
Approximately 3 lakh rupees were given as a dowry at the time of marriage. But as Zahid and his family had more lawsuits, their marriage dispute arose.
Aishwarya’s mother said that a few days later, thinking about her daughter’s happiness, they gave her son-in-law Zahid a motorcycle for another Tk.
Meanwhile, a few days after the marriage, her daughter Oishee informed her family that her husband was addicted to adultery. There was always a fight between them.
Last Thursday (October 29), Oishee received a photo of her lover in Zahid’s wallet. He was physically and mentally tortured for protesting against this. Oishee also reported the incident to her father’s home.
After Aishwarya’s family found out, her younger brother Amit went to take his sister home on Saturday (October 31) afternoon. At that moment Zahid abused him and kicked him out of the house.
Oishee also stopped going to her father’s house. Later, Amit returned home without Oishee. But since then, Oishee has been tortured again. Zahid brutally beat his wife.
Oishee’s mother, Sahanara Begum, added that Zahid called them on Saturday (October 31) evening and informed them that Oishee had been strangled. They went and saw the frozen body of the girl on the bed. Even then, they rescued Oishee in hopes of survival and rushed her to Pabna General Hospital. The doctor on duty declared Oishee dead.
Oishee’s mother and other members of the family complained that it was a premeditated murder. They said they wanted justice for the murder.
Ishwardi Police Station Officer-in-Charge (CO) Sheikh Nasir Uddin confirmed the allegation in writing and said the body was sent to the Pabna General Hospital morgue for autopsy. After receiving the report, it can be confirmed whether it is a murder or a suicide. Legal action is being taken in this regard.
The CO also said that after receiving the written complaint, the operation is underway to arrest the accused. Husband Zahid and members of his family have fled the house.
