Shafiqul Islam (35) used to make bad proposals to the wife of his neighbor cousin. Ultimately, he was charged with raping his neighbor’s 55-year-old aunt without getting any response from Bhabi.
The defendant Shafiqul Islam is the son of Jumur Uddin Bepari from the village of Bhatira (Dewan) in the Baktarpur junction of Kaliganj upazila of Gazipur. Shafiqul, a bricklayer by profession, is the father of three children.
The victim’s son said: ‘Often the lustful man made bad proposals to his wife and mother. They also showed the temptation of money by not agreeing with the proposal. Many women around your home are disturbed by the pain of that lustful person.
On Friday (October 30), around 8:30 p.m., her mother slept alone in the house. At that time his wife was praying in the next room. Shafiqul entered the house and raped his mother.
Although he did not tell anyone out of embarrassment, he fell ill and was admitted to the Kaliganj Upazila Health Complex on Saturday (October 31) morning. Later, pressured by relatives, he opened the matter to his daughter-in-law at noon.
They discussed the matter with the doctor at the health complex. Later, the doctor told them to complain to the police station and advised them to go to the One Stop Crisis Center for a physical exam. His mother filed a complaint with the police station on Saturday night.
Kaliganj Upazila Health Complex resident physician Sanjay Dutt said the patient was admitted in the morning with a physical illness. But when discussing the rape issue at night, it was suggested to seek the cooperation of the police and go to the One Stop Crisis Center for a physical exam.
Kaliganj Police Station OC AKM Mizanul Haque said the case (No. 28) was registered after receiving a complaint overnight. An attempt is being made to arrest the culprit. The victim will be sent to Gazipur Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmed Medical College Hospital for a medical examination on Sunday morning.
