Deen Islam, the younger brother, killed his older brother Asad Mia and his wife and children over a dispute over ancestral lands in Katiadi, Kishoreganj. He used a shovel to kill. According to the police, Deen Islam made the statement under section 164 in court on Saturday afternoon. He had previously provided the same information during police questioning.

Police recovered the bodies of Asad Mia, 55, his wife Parveen Akhter, 45, and their son Leon Mia, 8, from the Jamshait village in Katiadi’s Banagram Union on Thursday night. Asad Miah’s eldest son, Tofazzal, filed a murder case against nine people, including 40-year-old Deen Islam, at the Katiadi police station on Friday night. Deen Islam, his mother Jumela Khatun, his sister Nazma Begum and his nephew Al-Amin were arrested in the case on Thursday night.

According to the police, Deen Islam told them about the incident, Parveen Begum was busy cooking at home at around 10pm last Wednesday. At that moment, Deen Islam entered the house quietly and hit Bhabi Parveen on the head with a shovel from behind. Upon seeing the incident, Deen struck the boy with a shovel. Thus he killed Bhabi and his nephew. Then he waited for his older brother Assad. When Assad returned home around 11 p.m., he hit him on the head with a shovel and killed him. Later, the bodies of the brother, sister-in-law and nephew were buried in a hole dug near the house. Going to do all this, it becomes the dawn of religion.

Deen Islam testified yesterday under Section 164 in the courtroom of Senior Judicial Magistrate Abdun Noor, a judge of Kishoreganj No. 5 court. On the other hand, three other defendants detained by the police have been in preventive detention for 10 days for questioning. The appeal will be heard in court on Sunday.

Police believe that during questioning, Deen Islam confessed to the murder and told the same story to the judge.

Kishoreganj Police Superintendent. Mashrukur Rahman Khaled told reporters at the district police office that although Deen Islam had caused the incident, others were believed to be involved in other crimes, including burying the body. If all three defendants are questioned, the others involved in the incident will be identified and arrested. He said Pushish had recovered the mobile phones of the murdered Asad Mia and Parveen Akhtar from the hole. The shovel used in the murder has also been recovered.

Locals, including Banagram UP President Kamal Hossain Milon, say such a big task is not possible for Deen Islam alone. They demanded to find out if someone else has a “hand” behind them.

UP 6th member of the Md ward. Locals, including Jahangir, said that Deen Islam sold part of the house to his older brother Asad to go abroad. But he did not go abroad because he wasted this money. From that moment on, he pressured his brother to give him back the land. Assad’s disagreement led to a heated discussion between them. Furthermore, the brother-sister dispute with Asad over control of a land owned by mother Jumela Khatun has reached its climax. According to the police, the murder was caused by all of these.

Assad’s cousin, Mofazzal, was not home at the time of the incident. The eldest son Tofazzal was in Dhaka. Mofazzal returned home Thursday morning and found blood in the home without finding his parents or younger brother. He went to the Katiadi police station at night. Later, with the help of police and locals, they searched the hole at 10:30 pm. An autopsy was performed at the Kishoreganj General Hospital morgue on Friday afternoon. Later that night, three bodies were buried in the Jamshait village cemetery.
