Earlier, the CID arrested Gafur in front of his home in the Paschimatalla rail line area at 10 pm on Friday.

At a press conference yesterday afternoon, CID special police superintendent Nasir Uddin said that the defendant Abdul Gafur Mia had been acting president for a long time. From such an important and responsible position, he did not think about the safety of the lives of the faithful, although he knew that gas had accumulated in the mosque from the gas leak in the gas line. The mosque has used illegal electrical connections. He was arrested for negligence by the mosque committee.

Hours earlier, the CID had arrested eight Titas, a DPDC, and two local electricians. They are now out on bail.

It can be mentioned that 36 worshipers were burned in an explosion at the Baitus Salat Jame mosque on the night of September 4 during the Esha prayers due to a short circuit of electricity and a gas pipe leak. So far, 34 of them have died while undergoing treatment at the Sheikh Hasina Burn Institute in Dhaka.
