The newly appointed vice president of BFF, Mohiuddin Mohi

Before the Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) elections, there was a clear dispute between President Kazi Salauddin and Vice President Mohiuddin Mohir. Brothers Union activist and Juba League leader Mohi detonated a massive bomb about BFF’s financial irregularities. They were also discussed publicly in the media. Mohi was re-elected vice president and said he had no dispute with Salauddin.

‘The president of the federation never distanced himself from me. I have spoken. Well, I could be wrong too. It’s not okay for me to have a distance with him, ‘this is exactly what Mohi was saying after losing to Tabitha Awal in re-election on Saturday.

However, before the vote, the Juba League leader spoke out against BFF and Salauddin on various issues, including financial irregularities. After announcing his candidacy for the presidency, Mohi was a regular face in the election campaign of the supporter “out” Ruhul Amin. Although Ruhul Amin withdrew from the elections, Mohi stood firm against Salauddin. He made it clear that even if they put him on Salauddin’s panel, he wouldn’t stick around. In response, Salauddin said he would stick around if he was included in the panel.

In the October 3 elections, Tabitha Awal and Mohiuddin Mohi obtained the same votes, leaving the fourth vice president position unresolved. That post is being voted on again today. Mohi defeated Tabitha by a margin of four votes in the elections that began at 11:30 pm. She got 7 and Tabitha 63. For the first time, they both got 6 votes. After the election, the election commissioner announced the results keeping him in front.

Mohi confronted the media shortly after the announcement. When asked if it would be a problem to deal with the dispute with Salauddin, Mohi Saf said it was not okay to have a dispute. Mohi said: ‘He has been re-elected by a wide margin. This means that the delegates think that their worthy leader is Kazi Salauddin. I run the club myself. My club delegate may also consider Salauddin a worthy candidate. I have no personal dispute with him. When we were little, he was the soccer superstar of Bangladesh. The same age as my father.

Previously, Mohi had written a letter to the BFF vice president about financial corruption last year. He was not vocal in the media. He filed corruption charges worth around Tk 16 crore. In response to their allegations, BFF President Salauddin said before the elections: “Before the AGM, FIFA and the AFC received all the documents.” There was no problem. So, Mohiuddin Mohi understands everything, the rest are donkeys? Are FIFA and the AFC all idiots?

Forgetting all that, Mohi now wants everyone to move football forward together. Mohir replied: “At the end of the day, all of us who love football want to take football forward. I am with any decision that takes the football of Bangladesh forward, I will stay.
