Narayanganj: The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) arrested Abdul Gafur, chairman of a mosque committee, in connection with an explosion at a mosque on the west floor of Fatulla Police Station in Narayanganj’s Sadar Upazila.

He was arrested on Friday (October 30) evening from his home in Talla.

CID Narayanganj Special Superintendent of Police Nasir Uddin Ahmed told banglanews that he was arrested in a case brought by police at Fatullah police station in connection with the mosque explosion. The charge sheet is in the finalization process. You can charge 37 people on this.

According to CID sources, initially 37 people are being worked on. Of the 36, six are from Titas, two from the DPDC and 26 from the mosque’s management committee. But it could be more or less.

Among them are Titas Gas Region Managing Engineer Fatullah Mohammad Sirajul Islam, Deputy Manager Mahmudur Rahman, Assistant Engineering Assistant SM Hasan Shahriar, Assistant Engineer Manik Mia, Staff Ismail Pradhan, Assistant Hanif Mia, the Lead Developer Ayub Ali and Lead Supervisor Narib Chowdhury Arifur Rahman, East Region Meter Reader, and Mubarak Hossain, Electrician.

Among them, eight Titas officials and two DPDC employees were arrested. Previously, they were suspended. They were later released on bail and reinstated. However, no one has entered the workplace even though they entered the position.

On September 4, 36 people were burned in an explosion at the mosque. 34 of them have died. The two are still in critical condition in the hospital ICU.
