Pakistan won the first of the three-game series by 26 runs. It was the first match between the two teams in the ICC ODI Super League.
Pakistan racked up 282 runs in 50 overs on Friday at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. Zimbabwe stopped for 255 races.
Man of the Match Taylor also played a great 112-run inning for the losing team. Taylor’s association with Wesley Madhev led Zimbabwe to victory. But with Afridi and Wahab playing fire, in the end they didn’t manage.
These two pacemakers from Pakistan’s left arm shared 9 plots. Afridi is the best in the match with 5 wickets for 49 runs. Wahab’s 4 for 41 runs. Zimbabwe lost the last 6 wickets for 21 races.

Afridi took 5 wickets in two consecutive ODIs. He last played for ODI at the 2019 World Cup, taking 8 wickets for 35 runs in that match against Bangladesh at Lord’s.
In the match just before these two matches, Afridi took 4 wickets against Afghanistan. He has hit the ODI record with 4 or more wickets in three consecutive games.
Before the bowling prowess of Afridi-Wahab, Taylor was on his way to becoming a hero. Chasing the race, Zimbabwe quickly lost two starters Brian Chari and captain Chamu Chibaba. Afridi took them both down in two big installments. Taylor’s fight started.
Taylor added 61 runs for the third wicket with Craig Irwin. Possible innings by Irwin were stopped at 41 with left arm spinner Imad Wasim doing a reverse sweep.
The experienced Shawn Williams didn’t take long. Taylor and Madhevre called out the team that lost 4 wickets for 115 races. After drawing attention on the Bangladesh tour last March, the young Madhev once again left an impression of his talent.
Taylor touched fifty of 75 balls. From there it goes to the next fifty with 41 balls. Madhev, 20, scored a second fifty in his fourth ODI. The pair of the two crossed the hundred.
Zimbabwe needed 46 runs in the last 30 balls. This is not a very difficult time in cricket. Taylor-Madhevare is still on the ground. But Afridi and Wahab got in the way.
Madhev, who scored 55, was thrown by Wahab. The pair broke 119 runs and 114 balls. Afridi stopped Taylor’s 11 fours and 3 sixes in the next over.
Then only one batter after another is expected. The Afridi and Wahab bowling were not the answer to Zimbabwe’s lower order.

Pakistan won the toss and chose to hit first. In the opening, Abid Ali and Babar Azam came out in three overs, but they got off to a good start.
Another starter, Imam-ul-Haq, hits slowly as usual. His 56-of-65-ball innings were stopped and sold out.
Only Harris Sohail got runs in the middle order. This left-handed bat went from 72 balls to 61 balls. Mohammad Rizwan, Iftikhar Ahmed could not last long.
In the end, Fahim Ashraf’s undefeated 23-on-16-ball innings and Imad’s undefeated 34-on-26-ball innings could give Pakistan 260 runs.
It was not a very safe capital. Taylor proved it too. Afridi and Wahab rescued Pakistan this time.
