He was the third of eight siblings. He passed the SSC from Rangpur Zilla School in 1986. Then he studied at Dhaka University. He has two sons and daughters. The oldest daughter has passed HSC this time and the son is a sixth class student.

Visiting Shahidunnabi’s residence in Shalban on Friday morning, crowds of relatives were seen, including locals. Shahidunnabi’s wife, Jasmine Akhter, is singing. Lamenting, she said: ‘My husband was very simple. He prayed five times. I want justice for those who spread rumors and killed my husband. ‘

Family members and locals said Shahidunnabi’s only source of income was closed in 2016 after he left his job at Cantonment Public School. I was emotionally broken. He used to take medicine all the time on the advice of the doctor.

Shahidunnabi’s sister, Hasna Akhter, told Prothom Alo that her brother used to take Indian medicine due to mental anguish. So he went to the Burimari land port area on the border to bring medicine to the people he knew.
