Citing some eyewitnesses, the police said that a motorcycle coming from the upazila headquarters was heading to Bankra on the Jhikargachha-Bankra Abul Hossain highway on Friday afternoon. Hossain Ali was riding a motorcycle. At that time a motorcycle was heading towards the Upazila Sadar from Bankra by the same road. Nayan Hossain was riding a motorcycle. Around 1:15 pm, two motorcycles arrived in front of the Baliganda cemetery in the Balla village of the two upazilas. At this time there was a frontal collision between the two motorcycles. Drivers of the two motorcycles Hossain Ali and Nayan Hossain and drivers Aktarul Islam, Rabbi Hossain and Naeem Hossain were seriously injured. The locals rescued them and took them to the Upazila Health Complex. Doctors on duty at the Upazila Health Complex declared Hossain Ali and Nayan Hossain dead. The injured Akhtarul Islam and Rabbi Hossain have been admitted to the 250-bed Jessore General Hospital.
In this regard, the Officer-in-Charge (CO) of the Jhikargachha Police Station, Abdur Razzak, said: “Two drivers of two motorcycles were killed in a head-on collision. Three motorcycle drivers were injured. Two of them have been admitted to the 250-bed General Hospital in Jessore.
