Turkey is shaken by a strong earthquake. The magnitude of the earthquake was 8 on the Richter scale. However, the Turkish daily Sabah reported that the earthquake had a magnitude of 6.8. The epicenter was under the Aegean Sea, in northern Greece. This is expected to cause great damage in both countries. So far no victims have been reported.

The earthquake affected Bulgaria, Cyprus, Egypt, Libya, the United Kingdom, and northern Macedonia. Turkish Interior Minister Suleyman Soylu said six houses collapsed in the Beyarakli and Bornova districts of Izmir. The adjacent provinces such as Usak, Denizli, Manisa, Aden, Mughals reported minor damage. Photos and videos that appeared on local social media showed people trying to remove the rubble and remove the detainees.
