The National Zoo in Mirpur, the capital, will be open to visitors next Sunday (November 1) subject to health conditions. The Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock announced on March 20 the closure of the National Zoo to prevent the spread of the coronavirus (Covid-19).
According to a press release issued by the Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock on October 15, zoo authorities must meet 10 conditions and visitors must meet 8 conditions.
Conditions to be observed by zoo authorities
1. To maintain social distance when entering the zoo, round spots should be marked with indelible colors.
2. Disinfection tunnels and foot baths should be installed at the entrance doors.
3. The visitor’s body temperature test should be arranged with the help of a thermal scanner at the entrance door.
4. Sink and soap should be provided for hand washing in important places within the zoo.
5. Hand sanitizers must be provided to visitors.
. The number of visitors should be limited to a maximum of 2000 per day.
. Disinfectants should be sprayed around important animal enclosures every day.
. The inspection schedule should be set from 9 am to 3 pm.
