Khabir, a small vegetable trader who was in trouble for hoarding coins in Mohammadpur, Magura, is now a millionaire. The coin that became a thorn in his side was his necklace.
Dhaka businessman Mika Pharma Care Ltd. saw him after the news was spread in different media. Their leader Niyamul Kabir paid Tipu Khabir one lakh of rupees in exchange for the 60,000 rupee coin that weighed six manas.
He came to Khabir’s house in Mohammadpur and gave the money in exchange for the coins. At that time, Mohammadpur officer Upazila Nirbahi, Ramananda Pal, and other local dignitaries were present.
Khabir, a vegetable seller, said: “In the last 10 years, I have accumulated countless 1 to 2 rupee coins taken from buyers.” Whose weight is 8 pounds. I used to take coins from buyers while selling vegetables, but now nobody takes them from me. As a result, I had problems with coins worth Rs 60,000 in various denominations.
After the issue was discussed in the media through various media outlets, when the issue was discussed across the country, the Sonali Bank Mohammadpur branch collected some coins saying that it would deposit the coins in phases.

Khabir’s house is in the Jangalia village of Mohammadpur upazila. He has been trading vegetables in the local market for the past 25 years.
Khabir’s wife said that two-thirds of commercial capital was trapped in the coins. The hardships I endured with my family of four, including my husband and two sons and daughters, will be alleviated in exchange for this money.
